Pétition pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine du quartier juif de Budapest

A l’attention de Monsieur Francesco BANDARIN, Directeur du Centre du Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO

L’association des Mardis hongrois de Paris s’associe aux démarches engagées par l’association hongroise Ovàs! (1) quant à la protection de l’ancien quartier juif de Budapest, dénommé Terézváros et Erzsébetváros, dans les 6ème et 7ème arrondissements. Selon l’association Óvás!, à ce jour, 40 % des édifices du XIXème siècle, de style néo-classique et Art nouveau, ont été rasés ou transformés en constructions qui nuisent au caractère du quartier. Les dégâts irrémédiables causés à ce quartier, à la fois sur le plan du patrimoine architectural et urbanistique budapestois mais aussi sur celui du patrimoine culturel et historique mondial, ne sont pas admissibles.Les soussignés souhaitent apporter leur soutien à la démarche des deux associations susvisées et vous demandent de bien vouloir intervenir, auprès des autorités hongroises, en tant que Directeur du Patrimoine mondial, pour que ce quartier théoriquement sauvegardé le soit réellement. Par la suite, des études d’aménagement et de réhabilitation pourront être menées par des professionnels compétents, indépendants des promoteurs et investisseurs, sous contrôle des instances internationales compétentes (Direction du Centre du Patrimoine de l’UNESCO, ICOMOS).(1) Pour plus d’information voir aussi le blog Sauvez Budapest

A Mardis hongrois de Paris Egyesület ezúton csatlakozik a budapesti régi zsidó negyed (Terézváros és Erzsébetváros, illetve VI. és VII. kerület) védelmére alakult ÓVÁS! Egyesület kezdeményezéséhez.
Az ÓVÁS! Egyesület tájékoztatása szerint a védett negyed jellegét adó XIX. századi klasszicista, historizáló és szecessziós épületek már közel 40%-át vagy lebontották, vagy teljesen átalakították. Az eddig történtek Budapest városképi és építészeti örökséget, de a világörökséget is súlyosan károsítják.
Alulírottak - támogatva a két (budapesti és párizsi) egyesület törekvését a negyed megmentésére - kérjük Önt, mint a Világörökség Központ Igazgatóját, hogy járjon el a magyar hatóságoknál annak érdekében, hogy az elméletben védett negyed (2002-től az Andrássy úti világörökségi terület védőzónája és 2005-től Műemléki Jelentőségű Terület) a valóságban is védett legyen. Kérjük, segítse elő, hogy nemzetközi szakértők (UNESCO Világörökség Központ, ICOMOS) a helyszínen megvizsgálják az eddig történteket és a továbbiakban felügyeletük mellett a befektetőktől független, hozzáértő szakemberek készítsék el a rehabilitációs és szabályozási terveket.

To the Attention of Mr. Francesco Bandarin,
Director of the World Heritage Centre –UNESCO
The undersigned are aware of the petition addressed to UNESCO, launched by the Hungarian association OVAS and backed by the MARDI HONGROIS association in Paris.
The aim of the petition is to protect the old Jewish area of Budapest, called also Terézvàros and Erzsébetvàros, located in the 6th and 7th districts of Budapest.
According to OVAS 40% of the buildings of this area, dating from the XIXth Century and built in a neo-classical and Art Nouveau style, have been totally demolished, or partially transformed into buildings that harm the general character of the area.
The undersigned consider that it is inadmissible to cause such an irretrievable damage to a whole district, harming not only the architectural heritage of the city, but also the historical and cultural heritage or the World.
The undersigned wish to support the actions undertaken by the two associations mentioned above, and ask you to contact the Hungarian authorities in your capacity of Director of the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO in order ensure that the protection granted to these areas in theory becomes effective. Professional studies, carried out by competent experts, independent form promoters and investors ( i.e. World Heritage Centre of UNESCO, ICOMOS), should then establish an architectural development and rehabilitation scheme for this area.
